You’ve probably heard it before, but it always helps to have cold, hard facts to back up a familiar saying.
The best way to start selling on eBay is to sell all your unwanted items laying around your house. This used to annoy me, because I wanted to jump right into selling a specific item and start making money.
But that’s not how it works, most of the time, with successful eBay sellers. You have to start somewhere, and the best place is to start small, and the best small place to start is your own house (not that I know how small, or big, your house is, but you know what I mean).
Why am I tell you this? Check out this headline:
Average U.S. Household Has Over 50 Unused Items Worth $3100 According to eBay/Nielsen Survey
That’s right, 3100 DOLLARS! That would definitely be a good start to your eBay business. Read the entire article here:
Average U.S. Household Has Over 50 Unused Items Worth $3100 According to eBay/Nielsen Survey
This was especially intriguing to me:
According to the survey, the average U.S. household has 52 unused items around the house, which include:
– Clothing (52%)
– Electronics (53%), with televisions and cell phones being the most common
– Accessories (44%), including handbags, watches, hats and sunglasses
– Computers and hardware (41%)
– Sporting goods (35%)
– Toys (25%)
– Furniture (21%)
So, the best way to start selling on eBay, to essentially start your eBay business, is one of the most practical ways. Clean up your house, and make over three thousand dollars. It’s all in the facts.

Alternatively, you can sell stuff before you even have them. I focus on custom computers, and then I tell the customer it takes three weeks to customize your computer… I take their money, buy the parts, build it, and Voila! no risk investment….
